Overcoming their own powers, Team Sonic must find an unlikely alliance

Sonic, Knuckles and Tails face off against a powerful new foe, Shadow, a mysterious villain with powers unlike any they’ve faced before. Check out the actors behind some of their favorite animated films and series, including Keanu Reeves in Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
The film also draws on narrative elements from the Saturday morning animated television series Sonic the Hedgehog (1993)
The creators of the previous films cited Sonic in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2001) and the solo game Shadow the Hedgehog (2005) as inspiration. In the series, Knuckles says to Sonic, “Robotnik is gone, and there’s no need to fight another battle.” But in this film, he tells Tails and Knuckles that they need to ask Dr.
Robotnik to help them defeat Shadow the Hedgehog
Because of this, it’s unknown how they discovered he was still alive. Commander Walter: [on Shadow] Project Shadow is far beyond anything we’ve ever encountered.
