To get the sound of the capybara, the sound engineer had to travel to the zoo and tickle the capybara
Tale
The cat is a solitary animal, but when her home is devastated by a great flood, she finds refuge on a ship inhabited by different species and has to bond with them despite their differences. The team was very adamant about getting "votes" to do real animals, so they recorded real animals for the movie. However, the actual capybara sounds didn’t match the personality the capybara character would have, so they used a baby camel for the sound instead.
ButEarth is not just people
Today’s world is not exactly something that gives you hope for the future. This movie is about a time when people are (seemingly) gone. So in that way, it doesn’t give you hope either.
That part is a little silly
It is full of animals that sometimes simply live together in a kind of harmony. Granted. This movie makes it seem so easy for them to live together across species.
Earth will be fine
But the film is made in such a way that the animals are somewhat humanized. And the way they interact gives me a little hope for Earth. Not people.
As for the people, that remains to be seen
But this movie is a small miracle that will make you laugh and enjoy about 1½ hours of happiness.
