Smith, who plays Lloyd, is a seasoned hand in the Rodeo world
Tale
A ranching family in Montana confronts others who are encroaching on their land. Forrie J. John Dutton (Kevin Costner) often seems to “forget”; Montanan accent and drifts back into the SoCal tone he usually uses.
Master actor Costner stars in The Duttons
Featuring WatchMojo: The 10 Best Off-The-Radar Summer TV Shows (2018). (The review is for the first two seasons only) I didn’t expect to like this series, but the story, acting and cinematography are excellent. It’s basically Montana Mafia Wars with a huge testosterone boost (cowboys with guns on horses while fishing)!
The show is at its best when it shows the chessboard moving the Duttons and their enemies getting involved
The show goes sour at the beginning of the second season, but picks up again in the middle of the second season. Kelsey Asbille is the weakest link as Monica and she plays poorly, the story falls awkwardly and the acting just misses the mark. I think Cole Hauser may be the strongest actor (along with Costner himself) as Rip, and I’m looking forward to the others.
Thomas Rainwater is also great
scenes Rip was also in it. The story is buzzing and the scenery is beautiful. Just like Cormac McCarthy’s "All The Pretty Horses" was a bit rawer and more brutal than the title suggests, this show strikes me in a similar vein.
